Secrets of the Bluestockings is a scripted theatre-cabaret show that tells the fascinating story of the original Bluestocking Society - the first female literary salon in Britain in the eighteenth century, where no topic was off limits.

 

At a time when it was unseemly for women to have any education or practise the arts, the society was the height of rebellion. We explore the history of those first "bluestockings", delve into the lives of more trailblazing women in history and reimagine the Bluestocking Society as 21st century secret agents.

 

A bit like a "WI meeting meets an MI5 recruitment drive."
